The challenge of meeting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals is one of the biggest the world faces. Impact investors can play an important role, one that experts will explore at our annual conference.
Achieving the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is no mean feat. 48 developing economies face a $337bn (€315bn) annual spending gap for indicators related to climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution, for example, and that is just part of the challenge.
While there are many different SDG goals, and different pathways forward, a vital part of the solution will be focusing on financial inclusion. Speaking at Impact Investor’s annual conference this year, Sytske Groenewald, senior sustainability and impact analyst at Cardano, will explore the challenge of achieving the SDGs through financial inclusion. She will look at how investments in access to financial products and services can contribute, and will provide some real world examples of what those investments look like in practice.
Under the title ‘Generating real-world impact’, this year’s conference will take place on 7 December in The Hague. It will build on the success of last year’s event, bringing together Europe’s impact investing sector to discuss the mobilisation of private and institutional capital to address society’s biggest challenges.
The conference will serve as a platform for experts across the industry to discuss the real-world impact of impact investing strategies, across asset classes and regions.
