Octopus Energy’s generation arm has partnered with Pembani Remgro Infrastructure Managers on a new fund to invest into clean energy solutions on the African continent.
The Danish early years teachers’ pension fund has invested into Danish SDG Investment Fund II, which aims to make 20 investments across Africa, Asia and Latin America in support of the green transition and improving social conditions.
Two separate initiatives, which have been backed by the European Innovation Council and the Good Fashion Fund respectively, aim to reduce the negative impacts of garment and textile manufacturing.
Impact investing consultancy Phenix Capital said uncertainties surrounding national net-zero targets and requirements around the world were among factors giving impact investors food for thought.
The investment was made by Norwegian, Swedish and British development finance institutions to support the development of clean and climate-positive technologies in Africa.
