Lightrock’s inaugural climate fund backs tech companies focused on energy transition, decarbonisation, sustainable food & agriculture and sustainable transportation
The Article 9 fund is one of Europe’s largest cross-border residential investment vehicles, with a portfolio of around 30 properties in seven countries
The investment will support Tilabras Aquaculture’s growth plans, including building new hatchery and breeding facilities and expanding its existing farming and processing plants
The fund support businesses scaling up advanced recycling technologies and found in Clariter, which converts plastic waste for use as inputs in industrial and consumer products, an “ideal partner”
Investors in the fund include the International Finance Corporation, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and Dutch entrepreneurial development bank FMO
Investments in the new fund include Neggst, a Berlin-based startup which has developed a plant-based egg and has raised €5m in its first fundraising round
Climate Innovation Fund, APG and Nysnø Climate Investments are among the investors backing the new fund which will invest in European companies working to accelerate decarbonisation
