After substantial growth and evolution last year, Impact Investor speaks to leading voices in the industry about what they see as key developments, challenges and opportunities in 2025.

The banking group is providing loans to Finnish companies making  green and sustainable investments, with support from European Investment Fund guarantees.

The new initiative falls under BII’s recently launched £100m mobilisation facility that’s aimed at unlocking private capital for emerging economies deemed to be too risky by international investors.

The loan will enable Nature Impact to restore more than 120 acres of degraded UK farmland, and is the first private commercial debt package from Triodos based on a Biodiversity Net Gain unit model.

The Swiss investor’s commitments adds to those already made in the fund by a number of other development finance institutions. 

NAB impact investing and Co-Financing Our Future are coming together to accelerate the growth of impact investing, uniting nearly 50 members including specialised impact funds, institutional investors, larger asset owners and asset managers.

The asset manager has invested in assets based in the Netherlands and Spain, which it will transform into carbon neutral properties, it says.
